Celebrate Ireland's musical heritage this Culture Night

Music is an integral part of Irish culture and here at EPIC we celebrate musicians of Irish descent who have rocked the world on an international level for generations. From Paul McCartney to Kate Bush, from bodhráns to fiddles, we tell the stories behind some of Ireland’s most loved musicians. This Culture Night, why not check out some of the excellent musical tours on offer in Dublin and celebrate Ireland’s rich musical heritage from early times through to present day.

 

Record Store Tour - The R.A.G.E.

Dublin is home to many independent record stores that are concealed in obscure nooks and corners. Lumo Club’s Simon Roche will be leading you around these hidden basements and backrooms which are woven with stories of Ireland's musical history. If you’re a vinyl enthusiast, this one’s your gig!

This tour brings to you the history of poets and musicians of Dublin City and the rendition of ballads by Sean Fitzgerald. In weaving chords of history, culture and emotion in perfect harmony, this is a melody your heart is sure to sway to.

Historian Donal Fallon will be walking you through various ages of Irish music in this guided tour through the city. Tales from Dublin’s magnificent musical history from the Messiah to the Beatles are sure to leave you enthralled, so do hop on the bandwagon!

Hosted by the Carmelite Friars in the church which is home to the patron saint of love, St. Valentine, this guided tour will give you an insight into this building's unique history. This will be followed by a performance on the splendid Kenneth Jones pipe organ by Aleksandr Nisse. This is the destination for anyone looking for a spiritually enlivening evening on Culture Night!
